Poetry #161

Hey you the incognito
Do you know life after death
Do you know bliss after pain
Good and evil are the balance
That makes this existence
An opportunity and a disease
We are all Adam’s children
Disguised into foes to survive
The law of the winner
Is what makes us who we are
Faceless beings
Soulless fellows
Greedy of power and wealth
Subduing those who can’t afford
To be among the elites
Incognito we are
And Incognito we’ll die in a world
Where even the worst amongst us
Will become dust eventually

Featured: Silently Smouldering / Title: Magic

“In amidst a mist I sit
It’s cold, familiar, warm.
And since as far as I recall
My psyche it helped form.

The mist surrounded me and held
My wings back
Tight
For years.
And through its stalwart
Python grip
It caused
And dried
Some tears.

My being, body, self and mind
(Well, basically…me)
Were dampened, stifled
Curbed
And held,
In outward seeming glee.

And in this mist I could not see
The forest for the trees,
And more than once
I felt myself
Unsighted
On my knees.

Within the foggy,
Frozen mist
The snow it often fell,
It brought me bliss
Though at a price…
But still
My soul
Did quell.

Aeons passed
Then centuries
That took their toll on me,
And though satiated
Through the mist
A Glimmer
I did see.

I did not think that magic could
Exist within this plane.
And yet a spell was cast on me
That some
Would call
Insane.

And soon in magic I believed,
My wings soon found their spread.
And with a potion made of
Golden sweetness
Spells
I said.

A wizard soon appeared to me,
I hung on every word.
And secrets he divulged
And I
Devoured
Held
And heard.

And soon my powers could not be contained
They grew
And burned.
And magic
Powerful
Divine,
I wielded
Bled
And learned.

I owned the world,
The sky
The moon
The stars were mine to
Kiss
I wove such spells
That mere mortals
Envied
Cursed
Demissed.

And foes I fought
And slayed the dragons
Raging at my door,
And soon my golden magic could not win
Another war.

In my mind I was embraced with
Golden
Burning love,
A magic that
Emblazoned
Branded
Sealed from up
Above.

Cast upon the ground I was,
My Magic ripped from me,
And wounds that you could not envision
Weeping
Gaping
Plea…

And now amidst
The mist I sit
Again
But I recall…
The power that I
Once possessed
To hypnotise
Enthrall…

And yet I ponder
Cry
A silent
Heartbreaking lament…
For that sweet magic
That the Universe
To me it sent.

And now
It’s not
The Phantom kiss
Of spellbound, love
I miss…
It’s that pure
Fiery
Magic grasp
Of You
My friend…
Just
This.”
