The winner of Around a cup of Tea

First of all, thank you for being so numerous this Sunday. I see that some of you chose ‘a bag’ for different reasons perhaps. But there must be only one Winner.

I must thank Mel for her imagination, of what was in the bag. Actually I forgot to mention that the bag was empty. So thank you Mel for the idea.

The winner:

The knife. You can fold up your shirt to carry stuff if you need to. Matches might be useful if you were on a cold desert island, but most aren’t cold. The knife could be used to cut or kill. Either way, you have a possibility of eating something.

But I must mention Ward Clever for his choice, please read it if you have time. It’s a clever description on why he chose fire. If i were lost on an island i would love to have him nearby, we could share tools 😉

My Answer:

The bag is useful of course to carry water , wood , food … but we can make a bag out of an animal’s skin.

The matches are extremely useful because we can eat cooked food, we can protect ourselves from predators or make a rescue signal. But we can make fire with special rocks or wood.

The knife is vital to make tools out of wood or bones, to hunt, to skin an animal, to make a raft, or to protect oneself in a close combat .

So I’ll chose the Knife.

You'll never know what you'll read next. Random lecture is what is all about but one thing is for sure, it's by the same author who wrote The Theory of Fate and Who Went Out of Africa
